Throughout the years it was common for the bride to choose a single dress in the colors of her event for all of her dear friends in the bridal party. This practice often led to the cliche images of misfit bridesmaid dresses we often joke about today. Really, its not the the dresses were bad but that the same dress is not always meant to flatter every figure!
Luckily for the bridesmaids of today, its become a hot new trend for the Bride to allow her maids some leeway in choosing a dress. Its become very acceptable to have your friends choose a style of dress they prefer and have it ordered in the colors of the party to match. This way a busty girl can wear an eggplant dress with supportive straps and a short girl can show a little leg in a tea length dress and still be uniform in their bride's chosen color scheme. Another way to set the maids apart while still remaining in scheme is to allow them to freely asessorize! Allowing them to wear jackets of different styles in the same color is a easy and fun way. I mean really, just because it isnt your bridal party's big day doesnt mean you want your best friends to look silly in all of your photos!
Romantic Grecian styles are a fashionable way to remain modest without compromising a flare of personality! Notice the peek-o-boo accent at the shoulder, what a fun detail!
2012 bridesmaid designers are producing more and more bridesmaid dresses in a tea length. The short length offers ease of motion (great for being on the dance floor !) as well as fresh style that can be worn at plenty of other events after the wedding!
In style 430 (left pictured in raspberry) and 417 (pictured in charcoal iridescent chiffon ) we see the classic pleat is still very much "in". Throughout this collection they are used to give geometric flare as well as texture to what would otherwise be a very simple shift.
