Different manufacturers have different lead and production schedules. You will also want to leave enough time for alterations, usually at least one month before your event, if not sooner.

The longer you wait, the less choices you will have, so start early. Finding a perfect dress for your event shouldn't be stressful, it actually could be quite fun. And think of how great you will feel, knowing you found your perfect dress!
